Third year students of multimedia and mass communication, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) in collaboration with Okusa Toyota organised a “photography exhibition” under the theme “Into the roots” on April 30 at Bundrock auditorium, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous).
Inaugurating the exhibition, vice president PCC, Angel Sonari congratulated the department for coming up with a theme relevant to the present time. Despite of multimedia and mass communication being the youngest department, she maintained that it has been witnessing a tremendous growth and urged the students to keep up the momentum.
Event director, Souchutho Ngouri, while deliberating on the theme said, “We decided to have the exhibition on the theme ‘into the roots’ as most of us, the youngsters have gone astray from our roots”, and that it is imperative we go back to our roots and preserve our culture”.
Publicity in-charge, Th Salo, informed that altogether 34 photo frames were put up for display on the day of which 16 were bought by the visitors.
HOD, MMC Dr. Dakter Esse said that with the changing dynamics in the social and technological environment, it is important that there is a systematic progression in the course curricula. Photography exhibition is a practical paper aimed at preparing the students to be among the skilled workforce. It is also the artistic expression of the students, she added.
