One day training on “cultivation of oyster mushroom and value addition of horticulture crops” was organised on Septe,ber 16 by the Crusaders Club under youth ministry of Medziphema Ao Baptist Church and sponsored by Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphema.
During the training, demonstration on preparation of king chilli pickle with bamboo shoot, cultivation of oyster mushroom, preparation of pineapple jam and squash etc. were imparted.
Resource persons for the training were assistant professor B.Voc Dr. Sentirenla, SASRD Tzubentula Jamir and CIH Medziphema, Imtinaro and Sarila and Bendangla from Orchid, a Self Help Group (SHG).
According to the club the main objective of the training was to train the women on self sustenance and earn extra income for the overall welfare of the family as well as attain nutritional security of the family through the consumption of mushroom a highly nutritive food item. Altogether 45 participants attended the training.
