A major fire that broke out at Sunrise Colony, Burma Camp, was averted following quick response from the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES), here, on Monday. Speaking to Nagaland Post, an official from F&ES informed that after receiving the information, four fire tenders were pressed into action which prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses.
On the amount of goods that were lost in the fire, the official informed that property destroyed by the fire could not be estimated as the owner of the house was absent during the time of the incident.
The F&ES personnel disclosed that a short circuit caused the fire.
Meanwhile, on the same day, a fire broke out at Singal Angami. It was informed that residents of the colony had controlled the fire when F&ES reached the spot, however, the personnel left the spot only after proper checking was done.
