
A footbridge Sanuorü connecting High School Colony to New Secretariat Complex Kohima was inaugurated on Tuesday by Kohima Village Council, chairman, Dr. Neiphi Kire.
In his address, Dr. Neiphi lauded the effort and initiative of 4th NAP for constructing the much needed footbridge for the residents of the colony and daily commuters.
He said such exemplary work performed by uniform personnel without any sanction for the project from the government should be a wakeup call for everyone.
Commandant 4th NAP Bn. Thizama, Vekhosa Chakhesang, who led the programme, said he was pained to see public and students facing inconveniences so the battalion took up the initiative to build the bridge.
He informed that the footbridge construction was initiated by 4th NAP Thizama wherein 30 police jawans worked for 11 days till the completion. The bridge is around 97 feet length, 6 feet breath and 27 feet height. Vekhosa also expressed gratitude to Kohima Village Council, Kohima College, minister Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, and other individuals who supported and contributed towards construction of the footbridge. The programme was attended by rank and files of 4th NAP Bn Thizama, police jawans, Kohima village council members and public.
