NYKS Kiphire organises district youth convention

The department of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) Kiphire under the ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with district administration Kiphire organised a day mega event (district youth convention) on the theme “sense of duty among the citizens”, at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall Kiphire on October 15.
According to a DIPR report, special guest of the programme, EAC Kiphire Ane Khieya stated that as responsible citizens of the country, one must be aware of the fundamental rights and duties.
Responsible citizens build their communities into good habitats to live in by following good principles and helping one another, he stated.
Ane Khieya pointed out that with the way the world was fast-changing today, it required youth who were hard working and dedicated.
In this regard, he urged upon to inculcate “dignity of labour” and to abstain from all social evil practices.
In a welcome address, DYO, NYK Kiphire, P. Rebecca Rangnamei stated that the main objective of the programme was to develop personality and leadership qualities of the young and to engage them in nation-building activities.
She stated that NYKS activities included education, cleanliness, health sanitation, awareness of social issues and self-employment and entrepreneurship development, and also in preserving the rich culture.
Resource persons of the event was ZPGC assistant professor, Gagan and Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kiphire, general secretary Tsalichum Sangtam and MGNF ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Sukanya.
The programme was chaired by Nuzise followed up by a question hour.
