With an objective to promote clean and hygienic environment, Longleng Town Council (LTC) Tuesday launched its second phase of cleanliness and hygiene campaign by distributing waste collection kits to its sanitary workers, who have been actively involved in the upkeep of solid waste collection through house to house collection.
According to a DIPR report, LTC, administrator, Trongdiba Tongpi Sangtam stressed on the importance of keeping a clean and wholesome environment whether in home, offices, and public areas.
He said the LTC would continue its effort by focusing on large scale public participation by sensitising the masses on the importance of community participation towards making the town a better place.
Meanwhile, LTC and department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Longleng in collaboration with the ward authorities started compulsory registration and vaccination of dogs.
As per the order, all dog owners within Longleng Town are required to mandatorily register their dogs and ensure their custody within the premises of their respective residence and wards. Dog welfare and monitoring Committee has been set up by all the respective wards to monitor and ensure the welfare of dogs within their respective jurisdiction.
