A district level social audit public hearing under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) for Kohima district was convened under Social Welfare Department on October 14 at District Conference Hall, Social Welfare Office, Kohima. In a press release, the department stated that 19 villages under Kohima district were audited for FY 2020-21.
At the programme, assistant director of social audit unit, Nagaland, Imlirenla Sanglir gave a brief introduction regarding the National Social Assistance Programme and the importance of social audit under the programme. Representing the district administration as an observer, Pichano Kikon urged the department to be proactive in disseminating information and generation of awareness among the village functionaries.
The social audit report was presented by the block resource person, Nyanha Konyak. The resource persons highlighted the audit findings whereby Open Action Taken Reports (ATRS) were being discussed and rectifications were produced in written by the District Social Welfare Office and concerned Village Functionaries during the meeting.
