Jalukie battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised an interaction and lecture with cadets of Sainik School Punglwa, Peren, on October 18.
According to PRO IGAR (N), the programme was organised with an aim to encourage cadets to join defence forces to serve the nation through various entry schemes.
The programme was also aimed at instilling focus on personality development in order to evolve as better students and better armed forces officers in the future.
During the lecture, cadets were briefed in detail on lifestyle and career prospects in all branches of armed forces and different rank profiles and arms.
They were also educated on evaluation procedures in Service Selection Board (SSB) and various Officer Like Qualities (OLQ).
Altogether, 250 cadets of Classes IX, X and XI attended the programme.
The school also acknowledged AR for encouraging its students to join defence forces by organising educational events. It also expressed hope that such programmes would motivate young cadets to join the forces.
