Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) celebrated an advent Christmas and welcomed the Commissioner of Police (CP), Dimapur Kevithuto Sophie at the programme held at its office here on Saturday.
Welcoming the new CP, NCD president Estungmomo Kikon expressed the hope that Sophie with his vast experiences in dealing with law and order will be able to facilitate peaceful atmosphere in Dimapur city.
He assured support and assistance in maintaining congenial atmosphere.
Extending Christmas greetings, Sophie said that law enforcers as well as the citizen should strive for peaceful environment.
He also sought support and constructive criticism, information so that proactive and timely action will be carried out.
CP also assured that the department will continue to deliver its best to make the town a better place.
Christmas message was delivered by principal NEISSR Chümoukedima and secretary Christian Forum Dimapur, Rev. Fr. Dr. CP Anto.
Leaders from various communities attended the programme.
The programme was chaired by NCD general secretary LK Peter Anal and began with an invocation by NCD councilor, NA Kasar Tangkhul.
Words of gratitude was delivered by Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) president Moayanger Jamir and benediction by Naga Council Dimapur councilor HB Moba Konyak.
