Around 16, 000 bottles of assorted liquor and country made liquor seized by the excise department were destroyed at the joint liquor destruction programme of Excise Narcotics Cell and Mobile Squad at Excise directorate complex on December 12.
A release from the commissioner of excise office stated that 7723 bottles of assorted IMFL, 8961 bottled/canned beer, and 685 liters of country liquor were destroyed.
Commissioner of Excise & Prohibition, H. Atokhe Aye lauded the two units- Narcotic Cell and Mobile Squad for the remarkable seizures during the last four months.
He directed the enforcement units to enhance detection and seizures of liquor and drugs in view of upcoming festival season and State general assembly election 2023.
The programme was chaired by Dy. Commissioner of Excise (Hqr), S Chanlei Angh, as the Destruction Board Chairman.
