Consequent upon the appointment of Chotisuh Sazo as in charge of NPF Phek Division and Central Youth Wing by Dr. Shurhozelie Liezetsu, president Naga Peoples’ Front and Nagaland chief minister on May 1, the first consultative meeting with the Youth Wing was held on June 15 at NPF headquarters.
In his address, the minister dwelt at length the history of the party and how it had championed the cause of the Nagas. True to its principle, the party ever since its formation has been espousing the solution of the Indo- Naga problem between the Government of India and the Nagas, Sazo said.
Sazo maintained that though NPF changes its nomenclature wherever situation warrants, never has it changed its motto “fide non armis” and cock, its symbol.
No wonder NPF is the oldest Regional Party in North east India and second oldest regional party in the country, he remarked. The minister called upon the Central Youth office bearers to be loyal to the party, saying “Your hard work, loyalty and dedicated service will be recognised by the Party and will be richly rewarded”.
He cited instances where the likes of late Vamuzo and Dr. Shurhozelie who were not members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly were made Chief Ministers by the Party.
He therefore urged upon the youth leaders to continue to uphold the burning torch of the party and continue rendering the best service for the interest of the people. The meeting concluded with the words of gratitude by Bendangtoshi Longchar, working president Central Youth Wing.
Earlier, the meeting was chaired by Achamo Kikon, vice president, Central Youth Wing while the invocation was pronounced by Neizokhtuo Belho, associate press secretary and the welcome address rendered by N. Vihoshe Swu, president.
