RJD candidate from 37 Tiyu and GA/Project colony council union (GAPCCU) Wokha have condemned the alleged “bomb blast” carried out by unknown miscreants at a residence in Wokha town on February 16.
The incident reportedly occurred at the residence of Tsungiki village council chairman and former vice chairman GA/Project colony council union Janthungo Kikon at around 10:40 pm when he was not at home.
In a press release, RJD candidate Y Kikon described the incident as “disheartening and disgusting” and urged the responsible law enforcing authority to bring the perpetrators to book and take them to task as per the law of the land.
In a separate statement, GAPCCU chairman YM Odyuo and general secretary M Nrithung Humtsoe said the union was “deeply perturbed” by the explosion (suspected to be gelatin stick/IED).
They “strongly” condemned the “cowardly act” perpetrated against its member. They said the incident has caused trauma and disturbances not only to the family members but also to the entire colony. The union also appealed to all right-thinking citizen to condemn such acts.
Meanwhile, the union has warned of strictly dealing with any individual(s)/groups causing any untoward incident(s) within the colony.
