Advisor of Tribal Affairs and Election Department, H. Tovihoto Ayemi attended fast-breaking Iftar party hosted by Muslim Youth Dimapur at Idgah Ground, Dimapur on Monday.
On the occasion, Tovihoto lauded the initiative of Muslim Youth Dimapur for inviting people of different religious and cultural backgrounds to foster the spirit of brotherhood and unity.
He appreciated the efforts of Muslim Youth for being upfront in extending humanitarian services during crisis time such as Covid-19 and fire outbreak “which is a common occurrence in Dimapur”.
Tovihoto maintained that peace and harmony among people of different faiths and culture was essential for healthy and progressive society.
He said peaceful coexistence of people of different religions was the beauty of Dimapur and urged upon the people to be mindful to embrace the responsibility that falls upon them to protect and uphold peace and harmony of the society.
Tovihoto further pointed out that no religion preaches violence; love and peace were central in every religion and everyone must follow in true spirit for a peaceful society.
An official of Muslim Youth Dimapur said the event which invited people of different religion was initiated in a bid to foster and promote peace, harmony and brotherhood of the people and that the Muslim youth were committed towards the welfare of Dimapur.
