Mount Mary College organises workshop on GST

    Department of Commerce, Mount Mary College Chumukedima organised a GST (Goods and Services Tax) Workshop on June 17 with resource person from the Department of Taxes, Nagaland.
    Deputy Commissioner of Taxes, Imosong Imsong highlighted about the important of GST wherein he mentioned that GST is the easiest and fastest taxes system aimed at making India into a one nation, one market, one rate and one tax nation. Superintendent of Taxes, Zulutemsu Longkumer gave a detailed power point presentation about the GST and its benefit to the students and faculty of the college. 
    He mentioned that GST was a “game changer for the Indian economy”. He delivered on the benefit of GST, which will lead to decline in inflation, ease of doing business and eventually led to the decline in “Black Transaction”. 
    Altogether around 200 students and faculty members participated the awareness campaign.
    The programme was chaired by P. Anungla Imsong, dean of the Social Studies and God’s blessing was invoked by Suyim Lkr (Department of Economics). 
    Sentinaro, IQAC coordinator of the college delivered the welcome address.
