Kohima to celebrate World Music Day

Symphony Production/ Symphony Academy of Music Kohim in collaboration with INDIHUT, SAN Production, support and Kohima Music Community (KMC) will join the rest of the world, to celebrate its 2nd edition of World Music Day (WMD) 2017 on June 21 at the Heritage, Old DC Bungalow, Kohima. 

Informing this at the press conference at Dream Café, Kohima Friday, Melekhoto Pucho said the event will be their second edition to celebrate with some of the renowned musicians in Nagaland. He said the artistes would be performing for free.
Pucho said as musicians they felt the responsibility of celebrating world music day as the birth day of music and therefore, giving a music treat to the audience, he said the event focuses to aspire the youngsters in taking up music further to bring the music community under one roof. 
The line-up includes Search and Found (SFN) band, Polar Lights, Lords of Rock, Technicolors, Virie, Pezet & Vikhrie, Bokato, Mengu Suokhrie, Tuden, Metet Jamir, Kusazo and Jonathan Yhome
The show will begin from  4 p.m. onwards and will see the performance from the local artistes singing their originals and covers at the show.
The Fête de la Musique, also known as Music Day, Make Music Day or World Music Day is an annual music celebration that takes place every year on June 21. 
The concept of an all-day musical celebration on the days of the solstice was originated by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang. The festival later became celebrated in 120 countries around the world.
