New branch of SAOMK opened

A new branch of Symphony Academy Of Music Kohima (SAOMK) was opened at Pezielietsie near CANSSEA office, Kohima by six renowned musicians including Yanpvuo Kikon, Sanen Kichu, Sunep Oz, Mhaseve Tetseo, Zubeni Kikon and Virie on Tuesday.
Managing director and proprietor SAOMK, Mele Pucho in a brief address during the inaugural related about his journey in the music profession, about how he had a dream to be a musician. And after completing his P.G. in music at Pune and came back to Nagaland as a full time musician and started his first Symphony academy of music Kohima at Mohonkhalo Kohima in 2011. Following that in 2013 he started another music academy at Jail Colony, Kohima and third one at Pezielietsie, Kohima.
Pucho said Nagas were talented in music however lacked the opportunity to get trained and with that concern in mind he launched the music academy in the state capital. He disclosed that at present 350 music students and 22 music teachers were part of the two music academies. He also informed that very soon SAOMK would launch its website.
Pucho informed that SAOMK offers music courses including Piano, vocal, violin, guitar, drum, cello, bass guitar and music theory. Various artisted performed during the inaugural while Yanpvuo and Sunep also addressed the gathering and encouraged the local musicians.
