
Sümi Hoho held its “baghi hoho” (general session) on April 11 at Zunheboto Town and was attended by Sümis from every nook and corner.
According to a release by Sümi Hoho general secretary, Vihuto Asumi, the public was exhorted by K.L. Chishi, former chief minister, Nagaland and who was one of the “brains behind the formation of the Sümi Hoho” in the year 1979. The hoho was also addressed by minister Kaito Aye, minister Vikheho Swu and parliamentary secretary, Pukhayi Sumi.
The session began with Bible reading and prayer by Zunheboto Town Sümi Baptist Church, Senior Pastor, Dr. Daniel Chishi, presidential address by Sümi Hoho president, Toniho Yepthomi followed by greetings by Western Sümi Hoho president, Zheshito Swu.
Special number was presented by Aron Asumi and friends, Vihuto Asumi, general secretary gave the Sümi Hoho 2014 – 2017 report and also read out the Sümi Hoho resolutions followed by finance report by Ghokhevi Chophi, finance secretary while vote of thanks was delivered by Hekhushe Shikhu, secretary.
Meanwhile, search committee declared Sümi Hoho officials for the tenure 2017 – 2020. The new team will be lead by Hekhushe Shikhu as the president for which handing and taking over program would be done within the month of April. Prayer of blessing and benediction was conducted by Sümi Baptist Church Zunheboto, Senior Pastor, Rev. Yevito Sümi. The session was chaired by Khehoshe Yepthomi, vice president and recorded by Vihoto Shohe and Kakuto Chishi, secretaries.
Earlier, on April 9, Sümi Hoho organised a thanksgiving programme at Aghunato Town Baptist Church, the native place and church of the outgoing president, Toniho Yepthomi.
The office bearers gathered with the congregation in giving thanks to the almighty God for the successful completion of the term and for His faithfulness throughout. The eleventh tenure of the Sümi Hoho incumbent team culminates in the month of April.
Earlier, at the programme, president, Toniho Yepthomi, vice president Khehoshe Yepthomi, general secretary Vihuto Asumi and Hekhushe Shikhu gave brief speeches. Vihuto Asumi and Aron Asumi presented a special number and prayer of thanksgiving was conducted by Aghunato Town Baptist Church, Pastor, Vihoto Awomi.
