With an aim to recognise the significance of rainwater harvesting and to augment the PM’s Jal Shakti Mission, Assam Rifles under IGAR (North) conducted awareness lecture on rain water harvesting at Ndunglwa village, Peren district on July 6.
According to PRO defence, the initiative was to educate and empower the local population through an awareness lecture on rain harvesting techniques.
The event attracted enthusiastic participation from both young and old members of the local population.
The lecture covered the concept of rainwater harvesting, highlighting its importance on addressing water scarcity, promoting sustainable agriculture and mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.
The programme also showcased various techniques and methods that could be easily implemented in homes and community spaces to collect, store, and utilize rainwater effectively.
