The 1st edition of Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) Trophy will kick-off with a mega evening of festivity on September 18 at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex followed by the play-off on September 20.
This was informed at a press conference by MDFA Trophy organising committee, convenor, O Wati Jamir and co-convenor, N Akok Longkumer, at the MDFA treasurer’s resident on Sunday.
O Wati Jamir stated that the 1st edition of this MDFA Trophy would be played under the theme “Empower through Football”, and that the participating teams, outside of Mokokchung would be provided free lodging and logistic support.
It may be mentioned that since the establishment of Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA), the MDFA is creating a football history for the association by inviting football clubs of Nagaland, which can also accommodate foreign players. Earlier, the MDFA Trophy was only meant for the clubs of Mokokchung district.
It was further informed that the championship would carry (according to the NFA ceiling norms) an amount of Rs. 2 lacs and the runner-up Rs. 1 lac along with individual prizes with cash, certificates and medals.
The committee highlighted that the registration forms will be available at 3 Kits, which will be issued from August 10 and last date for form submission will be August 31, with the fixture to be drawn on September 15.
