The office of the newly created Directorate of Minority Affairs was inaugurated on September 13 at the Nagaland Commissions’ Complex, situated behind the Directorate of Social Welfare, Kohima.
The programme was graced by advisor of Minority Affairs & Sericulture, Imkongmar, MLA as the special guest. The advisor in his address encouraged the officers and staffs to inculcate work culture in the office. He also thanked the chief minister for his visionary leadership in creating a separate directorate to implement the various schemes of the ministry for the welfare of the minority communities in the state.
The chief information commissioner, I Meyionen Jamir in his speech encouraged the officers and staff to work for the upliftment of the various minority communities in Nagaland and contribute their part in the overall development of the state. He further congratulated the department for making the Directorate functional in record time.
Delivering the welcome address, director Shashank Pratap Singh, highlighted about the various activities of the department and its future course of action.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by secretary of Minority Affairs, Obangla Jamir, dedicatory prayer was offered by pastor of Faith Harvest Church, Renthungo Ngullie and vote of thanks was proposed by joint director. The programme was attended by host of dignitaries, officers and staff of Nagaland Information Commission.
