Amidst the ongoing face-off between ACAUT Nagaland and State Finance Department (FD) over the issue of teachers’ salary, Nagaland Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (NRMSATA) has questioned the “integrity and commitment” of the “delay in payment of salaries to RMSA, SSA and Hindi teachers etc. were genuine and were being tackled as best as possible” statement of FD.
In a press note, NRMSATA president Renbemo L Patton and general secretary Kezhothito Keyho, while extending support to ACAUT, recounted last year’s incident where RMSA teachers’ salary was delayed by FD reportedly citing ‘obstacles in file movements’, more than a month after receipt of funds from the MHRD by the State government. “A little bit of encouragement would do wonders and your statements make more meaning if the four months pending salaries for RMSA, SSA teachers and nine months for Hindi teachers are cleared at the earliest,” the association stated.
