Tchüphyangza Baptist Church (TBC) Youth Department organised Penalty Shootout under the theme “Shootout Suicide” on at MTC Ground, Wokha on January 20. In the competition, Penalty Merchants emerged as the champions, while Mokol F.C and Cricket Lovers secured the second and third positions. Young Star (under-11) emerged as the youngest team and Sirens F.C and TBE CNY1 were the women team. Abeno (Mastermind F.C) scored the first goal and Benri Tungoe (Mokol F.C) received the best keeper award.
A total of 26 teams participated. Earlier, the shootout was kicked off by Rev. A. Kithan. The theme speaker was associate professor MTC, Dr. Libemo Kithan. He spoke on the various factors and the preventive steps to avoid suicide. He also emphasised personality development and spiritual life as the key to overcome failures and hurdles in life. Later, the participants also took a pledge to win over suicide through Christ and uphold the value of one’s precious life.
