One of the choices that most do not choose as our career path but directly or indirectly get associated with it when we do not get government jobs or decent jobs in private sectors . The path which we are talking about is nothing ready-made but one needs to design , build and construct and move along with it . One must be passionate to be on this path. Well, this is the path of entrepreneurship which is must talk at the current time. It’s a power to bring social change and transform society in a positive way.
We are all aware that it has long been a catalyst for economic development, innovation, and societal transformation. It helps in generating new ideas and ideas into action which enhances economic activities, promotes business and also helps in the growth of different industries or other initiatives. One of the wrong concepts that we have in mind is that we need only money to start a new business but successful entrepreneurs have proved that it’s not only money but ideas that are needed initially. We must understand the differences between business people and entrepreneurs.
The most important quality of the entrepreneur is the ability to take risks. They are risk-takers, willing to endeavor into unexplored territories, and overcome challenges to bring their visions to life. Positive attitude is another important attribute needed to be a successful entrepreneur. An entrepreneur is someone who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise. An entrepreneur is an agent of change.
The irony is that most of us do not choose it as our first choice career. In a region like North East India, entrepreneurship is a new term. Most of us are first generation entrepreneurs so we need more time to show the power and force into action. There are government departments, institutions apart from private players or corporate and other social organizations which are working to promote entrepreneurship in the region. The digital revolution is adding benefits to entrepreneurs which mean anyone from North East may also choose to be successful in this path and help in bringing more peace and development in North East.
There is an option to become social entrepreneur and contribute for equity in the society. All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) organized a special seminar on “empowering youth entrepreneurs and employment generation for sustainable development” as a part of their 56th delegate session where I was one of the speaker and shared my experiences with the participants. I would like to appeal all students union and community based organization to conduct programme related to entrepreneurship so that we can build the eco system and encourage our young friends who wants to do something unique.
It’s all about risk taking and challenge and the best part is the government is ready to assist and support. Young people from the North Eastern region must take the opportunity and build a vibrant future through entrepreneurship. We have to move beyond subsidy and plan and take action with our ideas and endeavors to change the society in a positive way.
