SAMETI’s training on ‘natural farming’

A two-day training on “natural farming” conducted by the State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) culminated on February 8. A press release by SAMETI Medziphema stated that the resource persons were professor and HoD department of agronomy, NU: SAS Medziphema campus, professor T. Gohain, professor. Tongpang Longkumer from department of agronomy, NU: SAS, Medziphema campus, and head of regional centre, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Medziphema, Dr. H. Kalita.


During the course of the training, emphasises were made on the introduction to natural farming and its principles, natural farming – its practices and advantages and prospect of natural farming in Nagaland.


The resource persons encouraged uses of own seeds and locally available natural fertilizers and synchronization with nature.
The participants also visited department of agronomy, NU: SAS, Medziphema campus and ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Medziphema. The valedictory programme was chaired by DPD SAMETI, Yezaho Swu.
