Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms in general area Shingphan Forest Area in Nagaland, Assam Rifles along with Nagaland Police launched an operation on February 6 and recovered arms and “other stores”.
A press release by PRO, HQ IGAR (North) stated that during the four-day search operation, the joint team recovered .22 rifle, two 0.32 pistols, one 7.62mm pistol, and “other stores”. PRO claimed that the “successful operation has delivered a major blow to the inimical activities of insurgent in Nagaland”.
