Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has launched the “Donate for Congress” campaign—a crowdfunding initiative—for electoral campaign fund of S Supongmeren Jamir, Indian National Congress and INDIA bloc consensus candidate for Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha seat.
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee through its communications department stated freezing of Congress party’s bank accounts by the union government was not just an act of “inter party political upmanship”, but an assault on the democratic rights of the common people of India.
NPCC stated that the “Donate for Congress” campaign was an invitation to the voters of Nagaland to register their “protest against this wrong”, and reassert the centrality of the electorates on the representational democratic processes mandated under the Constitution.
Therefore, NPCC has appealed to all the supporters, well-wishers of the Congress Party and every right-thinking citizen of Nagaland, who believes in the preservation of a free and fair playing field in the electioneering process, to contribute generously and make it count.
