ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) – Child Friendly Dimapur organized a one-day workshop for educators at Government High School, Darogapathar on June 10.
The workshop, themed “Mindful Teachers”, featured Bokatoli, a Counseling Psychologist from Serendip Guardians, as the resource person.
The workshop focused on two primary topics: “Getting to Know Your Students Better” and “Nature vs. Nurture Impacts on Personality and Intellect”.
During her sessions, Bokatoli emphasized on the importance of understanding students’ strengths and weaknesses and recognizing each student as a unique individual.
She highlighted how students remember and admire teachers based on
their qualities, such as caring nature, kindness, and helpfulness. Additionally, she encouraged educators to de-stress and improve their management skills to become more effective and diligent teachers. The sessions were practical and informative, featuring various real-life examples and experiences that correlated with the topics.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Thechano Patton, Headmistress, Government High School Darogapathar. Garrol Lotha, Project Coordinator for Child Friendly Dimapur, shared insights into the Child Friendly Cities initiative and its goal of creating environments conducive to the well-being of children.
The program was moderated by Sr. Jisha Joseph, Children Mobilization Officer. A total of 22 educators attended the workshop, benefiting from the interactive and insightful sessions aimed at enhancing their teaching approaches.
