Vizo CC emerged as the winner of the 1st edition of the DCC Summer Cup, a Super Six Soft Ball Cricket tournament after defeating Kati Super Strikers in the final on June 29. The tournament was organised by the Dapfhütsumia Cricket Club (DCC) on June 28 and 29. Altogether, 19 teams registered themselves to vie for the championship title.

The toss was won by Kati Super Strikers and elected to field first. The power hitters from Vizo CC set a respectable total of 79/3 in six overs against the formidable bowlers of Kati Super Strikers (It may be mentioned that Ntsenlo of Kati Super Strikers managed to get a hat-trick in the semi-final match, the only hat-trick of the tournament). Vizokhotuo Nguzhü top scored for Vizo CC with 35 runs.

In the second innings, the bowlers of Vizo CC displayed some very disciplined bowling which left the batsmen of Kati Super Strikers with very little space to manoeuvre. Nonetheless, they fought on and managed to reach 61 runs for the loss of one wicket after the 6th and final over. Ntsenlo of Kati Super Strikers top scored for their team with 45 valuable runs. Kati Super Strikers, however, fell short in the final though, as Vizo CC emerged jubilant as the winners of the 1st edition of the DCC Summer Cup. Vizokhotuo Nguzhü of Vizo CC was adjudged Man of the Match.

The winners were awarded 20,000/- and the runners-up team went home richer by 10,000/-. The Man of the Match was gifted with `2000/- for his efforts. A short closing ceremony was held which was graced by the president of the Dapfhütsumia Youth Organisation, Neisedelie Sachü. In his speech, he encouraged the participants to never stop chasing their dreams.
