Mini Hornbill Festival, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the region, organised by Lakhuni Ayim, in collaboration with department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, was celebrated at Alongtaki Community Centre with minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, as the chief host.
A press release by the department informed that Temjen Imna, in his keynote address, highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting cultural tourism.
Short speeches were also delivered by chairmen’s of various village councils, including Lakhuni, Japu, Lirmen, and Chungtiayimsen, each emphasizing importance of cultural preservation and community development, while cultural segment featured Tsüngremmong song by Changdang Village Council, and a special song by Imkongsenla Lkr.
The festival was also attended by advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, advisor of School Education and SCERT, Kekhrie Yhome, secretary, department of Tourism, Nchumbemo Lotha, director of Tourism, Veyielo Doulo and other officials from various departments.
