On the occasion of National Friendship Day, Assam Rifles organized a special event for the students of Don Bosco School Tesiphenyu and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pfutsero on August 4.
According to Assam Rifles, the event was organised with an aimed to promote sportsmanship and foster bonds of friendship among the students.
A variety of sports items were distributed to the school, including Volleyballs, Volleyball Net, Footballs, Carrom boards, badminton sets, Shuttle Cock and Chess Boards encouraging physical activity and team spirit among the students.
The highlight of the day was the symbolic act of tying friendship bands. Assam Rifles along with the 350 Students and 15 teachers, participated in this gesture of unity and camaraderie. At Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pfutsero, to mark the day, troops of Assam Rifles and students tied friendship band to each other as a mark of friendship between the youth of the society and friends of the Northeast people.
The event culminated with refreshments for the students.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles Kohima Battalion organized a tree plantation and soil conservation drive at Kezo Town Middle School. The event saw participation from 45 students and 4 teachers on the theme “Ek Peed Ek Naam.” The tree plantation drive emphasized the importance of tree plantation and soil conservation, with students and Assam Rifles personnel planting numerous saplings around the school premises.
