Sümi Hoho observed the Sümi Patriots Day, at the Sümi Patriots Memorial Rock in Zunheboto on August 4, in commemoration of the Sumis who had sacrificed their life for the cause of the Naga freedom movement. On the occasion, the Sümi Hoho also observed the death anniversary of late General Kaito Sukhai.
According to Sümi Hoho media cell, leaders from various Sümi organizations gathered to pay homage to the Sümi patriots. The programme was led by Sümi Hoho vice president Kikheto Muru.
Following the floral tribute and obituary reference, short speeches were delivered by Sümi Hoho president Dr. Vihuto Asumi and Sümi Kükami Hoho president Hetoho Zhimomi. Vote of thanks was delivered by Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu assistant general secretary Pito Swu. A prayer for the patriots and Sümi leaders was led by associate pastor Agape Chishi of the Sümi Baptist Church Zunheboto.
