Nagaland governor La Ganesan, CM extend Ahuna greetings

On the occasion of Ahuna festival, the Nagaland governor La Ganesan and chief minister Neiphiu Rio have extended warm greetings to the members of the Sumi community as they celebrate the post-harvest festival.

In his message, Ganesan said Ahuna is a time to reflect on the blessings, share in the joy of abundance, and honour the legacy of ancestors. “As we celebrate the culmination of a successful harvest season, may this festival remind us of the strength, unity, and traditions of our Sumi Naga community,” governor said.

He also wished that this festival bring prosperity, good health, and lasting happiness to all.
In a post on X, chief minister Rio wished the Sumi community a joyous Ahuna. “As we celebrate this post-harvest festival with thanksgiving, and invoke the Almighty for good fortune in the coming year, may our prayers be answered,” Rio said and wished that the festival also foster peace and unity.

Patton: State deputy chief minister Y Patton, also greeted the Sumi community on the occasion of Ahuna, post-harvest festival celebrated as a thanksgiving for the bumper harvest and preparation for a good year ahead.

In a message, Patton said that this was the time when people from all walks of life gather to celebrate in good cheer. Deputy CM, on behalf of the state BJP legislators, conveyed heartiest festive greetings and hoped that it was celebrated in unity and friendship.
