District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) on November 26, observed the Constitution Day by organizing various programmes at their respective headquarters.
Mokokchung DLSA: Mokokchung DLSA celebrated Constitution Day at the District Court, honoring the foundational document that upholds democracy and justice.
The event featured a keynote address from the secretary, Julian Sitlhou, who emphasized the critical role of the Constitution in safeguarding fundamental rights and the commitment to providing access to justice for every citizens.
Chairman, Victo Sema read the Preamble of the Constitution, reinforcing the enduring values and principles that guide our nation. The programme was attended by members of the LADC team, panel lawyers, PI staff, the prosecutor, practicing advocates, and members of the Bar Association.
Constitution Day was celebrated at Government High School, South Point East, Zunheboto, Nagaland. Easter H Yepthomi retainer lawyer ZDLSA briefed about the framework of the Constitution. It was followed by mass reading of The Preamble.
PDLSA: Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) observed the day at District Court Conference Hall.
The programme was chaired by Sekhotso Rokha, Panel Lawyer, Phek DLSA. The preamble was read by everyone present to pledge recommitment to the ideals of the preamble. Vethothi Vero retainer lawyer Phek DLSA spoke on the significance of observing constitution day, a day of immense importance in our democratic journey.
The program was attended by Tucuno Vamuzo, chairperson, Phek DLSA, Zhevi Swu APP, PI staffs, courts staffs, PLVs of Phek DLSA and Advocates from Phek District Bar Association.
PDLSA: Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) observed the day at Government Higher Secondary School, Jalukie Town. The program was conducted with the students where in WV Patton spoke about the significance of the Constitution Day and Panel lawyer Italang Ramlia and Kewithinwang highlighted the salient features of the Constitution and the Fundamental Duties under the Indian constitution.
MDLSA: Mon District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) celebrated the day at District Court Mon. The event, was led by Chief Judicial Magistrate B Peter Resu, aiming to raise awareness about the Indian Constitution and its significance in Nagaland.
The celebration covered an overview of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contributions as the architect of the Indian Constitution. Participants also learned about the rights and responsibilities enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
LDLSA: Longleng DLSA (LDLSA) observed the day at Victory Hostel. Panel Lawyer P Monyei Phom, highlighted the Preamble of the Constitution and led the participants in “Pledge of Preamble”. Panglang Y Phom, Panel Lawyer enlightened the students on Fundamental Duties and Basic Child Rights. In conclusion PLs & PLVs demonstrated “Good Touch & Bad Touch”. PLVs Manau and Yingli participated the said programme.
DDLSA: Dimapur District Legal Services Authority observed the day at the council hall, Sunrise Colony, Dimapur. The programme started with the reading of the preamble of the Constitution of India. Panel lawyer Thiuswangwilu delivered a talk on significance of the Constitution and fundamental duties. She also highlighted about Legal Services Authority, its role.
The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, POCSO Act and Lok Adalat. The programme was attended by Youths and Women of the colony.
