A vibrant team of 16 folk artists from Nagaland, representing the Indigenous Cultural Society Dimapur, performed a captivating display of traditional Nagaland folk arts at Raj Bhavan, Lucknow on December 10.

The performance was part of the foundation day celebration of Nagaland and Assam’s statehood, organized by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The team, comprising students from GPIT SHUATS UP and members of the Sümi Community from Prayagraj, presented a rich array of cultural performances, including Naga Traditional Fire Ignition, Women’s Folk Dance, Spear Kick, and Indigenous Folksongs. The folk artist team was led by Dr. Esther Phucho and Miss Kili H. Chishi, a dedicated folk arts teacher, who guided the performers in showcasing the cultural heritage of Nagaland.
