Six tribal communities of Assam including Moran, Motok, Chutia, Tai Ahom, Koch Rajbonshi and Tea Tribes, have called a 24-hour Assam bandh Wednesday starting 5 a.m. The bandh has been called in protest against non-granting of Scheduled Tribe status to these communities by the Government.
