Dzukou cup football tournament concludes at Jakhama

Indian Army, in collaboration with the Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) conducted the fourth edition of Dzukou cup football tournament at Jakhama from January 30 to February 1. The event was conducted under Operation Sadbhavna to bring the local communities together and promote unity through sports.


The event witnessed 10 male and 6 female teams, comprising of players between 15 to 25 years representing different villages and towns across the state. In the final match, Kidima Village emerged victorious after defeating Viswema Village team 1-0 in the men’s category while in the female category, team from Kidima Village defeated Mima Village with a score of 2-0.


Best player in the male category was awarded to Kelengol Toso, while Khrienkono was adjudged the best female player. Winners, runners-up teams and individual players were also awarded.


Beyond the exhilarating football matches, the tournament also served as a platform for cultural exchanges and meaningful interactions between the local community and the Indian Army, further deepening their bond and fostering mutual respect.
