As part of the second phase agitation of the Eastern Nagaland Student’s Federation (ENSF) demanding relaxation for teachers of the four districts of Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Kiphire from the purview of the new recruitment policy for government teachers, ENSF activists Thursday picketed and locked all offices of DEO & DIS in the four districts.
In Tuensang, hundreds of students from Govt. Higher Secondary School picketed the offices of DEO and DIS. ENSF president YP Chillio told this correspondent that the federation would not compromise but continue with the agitation until its demand was fulfilled by the State Government.
ENSF is demanding relaxation of ten years for teachers of the four districts of Mon, Tuensang, Longleng and Kiphire comprising of Konyak, Chang, Sangtam, Phom, Yimchunger and Khiamniungan tribes, from the purview of the new teachers’ recruitment policy, which made it mandatory that every graduate teacher should possess B.Ed degree.

On Wednesday, the federation staged sit-in dharna at DC office premise in all district headquarters of Mon, Tuensang, Longleng and Kiphire districts.
