To educate students and faculty on TB prevention, treatment, and eradication, Mount Mary College (MMC) organised a Tuberculosis (TB) elimination awareness programme on February 17.

Resource person of the programme, Dr. Benchilo Ngullie, District TB Officer, Dimapur, Nagaland, highlighted the government’s efforts under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).

She emphasised key services, including Free Diagnosis (Tests) available at government health centres and Free DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment) ensuring proper medication adherence and also other Financial Benefits like Nikshay Poshan Yojana and Tribal Allowance for TB patients.

Dr. Ngullie urged collective efforts in TB elimination, stressing awareness, early detection, and treatment adherence. An interactive session followed, where students engaged in discussions.
