Yemhi Memorial College organised its 12th annual sports meet under the theme “Unite, Triumph and Conquer” from February 12 to 14. Three groups namely Akagami, Straw hats and Defenders participated in the event, where Akagami was declared as the overall champion followed by Straw hats as the second best and the team Defenders was adjudged as the “Best Discipline” team for their sincerity and endeavour during the whole event.
The first event was conducted at the Yemhi Memorial College campus with the prior focus on indoor activities. The second and third consecutive days were conducted in the Forest Department of Institutional Training ground. A game of musical chair culturally endorsed only for the BA 6th semester was organised and a cash prize for the winner was sponsored by the Department of Political Science Yemhi Memorial College.
The inaugural session was graced by vice principal Yemhi Memorial College, Toyeto Chishi as the chief guest. He highlighted on the importance of unity, to be united as one and to overcome the problems and challenges in life as in sports and also to conquer the fear of their life which is an impediment towards the success.
The inaugural was chaired by president Yemhi Memorial College Students Council, Shekhaho Chophy. The closing ceremony was chaired by general secretary Yemhi Memorial College Students Council, Vikucho Z. Achumi followed by prize distribution and the benediction was offered by HOD Department of History YMC, Akali Sumi.
