One day life skill education training programme was conducted on Friday, organized by Government Middle School, Longsa in collaboration with KVK (ICAR), Wokha at KVK instructional farm, Wokha.
The programme was chaired by N. Khumdemo Ezung, Programme Co-ordinator (i/c) who briefed the students about the aims and objectives of KVK and also spoke on the scope of taking up Agricultural studies as a career.
Dr. Moaakum Sangtam, SMS(A/Sc.) spoke on the topic “Livestock farming for income generation” and encouraged the students to take up for self employment as it is a profitable enterprise. Demonstration on ginger pickle making was conducted by Jessica Dohtdong, Programme Assistant (H.Sc.) and demonstration on mushroom cultivation was taken up by Lireni Kikon, Programme Assistant (PP) in which the interest of the students can be clearly observed from their active participation.
Altogether around 30 students including teachers participated in the day long training programme. Vote of thanks was pronounced by the Head teacher of the school who requested for such kind of skill oriented trainings to be conducted in the near future also.
