Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, has dismissed rumours of alleged leakage of history and chemistry question papers in the ongoing HSSLC and HSLC exams, by terming them as “baseless”.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Eduversity Library and the launch of the NPSC E-STUDY Portal and NSSB CLUB APP at Eduversity, Duncan, Dimapur, on Thursday, he clarified that he is not the minister for School Education but, as a government spokesperson, assured that no such incidents had occurred.
He questioned the credibility of the claims by asking if anyone has concrete evidence of the question paper leakage . Along urged public not to entertain baseless rumours and emphasized that Nagaland’s HSLC and HSSLC exam systems are among the strictest in the Northeast and so far there has been no history of such malpractice.
Addressing concerns over unemployment, Along asserted that there are no backdoor appointments in government jobs. He urged individuals labeled as “educated unemployed” to undergo self-realization, stating that work opportunities exist in various sectors, including farming, entrepreneurship, and skilled professions.
He encouraged aspiring government job seekers to enhance their knowledge through platforms like Eduversity, take competitive exams, and move away from the “unemployed” mindset. He reiterated that education and self-reliance are key to breaking barriers, aligning with the government’s vision for youth empowerment.
Speaking on the rise of factions and unions, Along reaffirmed that the government does not encourage such groups and remains serious about addressing the issue. He noted that five organizations are currently under ceasefire and urged citizens to allow each other to prosper.
He emphasized the need to foster institutions that provide structured and valuable education while also giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to grow. He stressed that progress would be hindered if people failed to support legitimate business ventures and work opportunities.
