The 10th edition of Nagaland Street Fitness was held at CT Square, Chumoukedima, on February 23 with an aim to promote a fitter, stronger and healthier Nagaland, and to bring the fitness community together in order to build up the fitness industry.
A total of around 100 athletes competed in various categories like Arm Wrestling, Best Physique, Fittest Man/Woman and Strongest Gym. The event was started in 2016 by Yanpvuo Kikon and Hukupa Thulu-o along with likeminded friends Ketseiu Talie, Thejakhrietuo Kire, Vizo Savi.
This year’s event included new generation of athletes from the fitness community to the organising committee including Kenny Soru, Talimoa Jamir, Lily Hasnu, David Wangsha, Musamo Kiho, Team Friction, Neli Dominic and Avilie Zuyie. Through this event, organisers in its message urged the youths to stay strong, fit, healthy and also try their best to give up ghutkha consumption and make Nagaland litter free.
The winners are:
Arm Wrestling: champion men – Avilie Zuyie; vice champion men – Huluyi D Vadeo. Champion women – Vikehenuo Zumvii; vice champion women: Atalu.
Fittest Man & Woman in Nagaland: champion men – Merenso Kitchu; vice champion men: Pezalhu Terhüja. Champion women – Peiheiteile Esalung; vice champion women: Machen.
Best Physique in Nagaland: Champion men – Siilow Saprii; vice champion men – Temjensowa Imsong. Best Physique champion women – Ekhumnaro.
Strongest Gym in Nagaland: Champion – Universal Gym; Vice Champion – Nimok Power.
