The 15th edition of Nagaland University premier tech fest, TechAura 2025, officially concluded with a grand closing ceremony at I.G. Stadium, Hall-A, Meriema, Kohima, on February 28.
The valedictory address was delivered by former Pro-Vice Chancellor of NU’s Kohima Campus, Professor Neivetso Venuh who highlighted the challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI) to young learners and professionals.
Warning that “AI is a threat to human intelligence,” Venuh urged students to embrace manual skills over digital dependency and seek knowledge beyond textbooks. Despite infrastructural limitations, he encouraged students to innovate by blending scientific knowledge with traditional technology.
Honoured guest Speaker of the Naga Students’ Federation, Katho P. Awomi spoke about the contradictions in human nature, noting that Nagas are often misled by political corruption, unhealthy habits, and propaganda. He urged students to reclaim their true identities and work towards social transformation.
Advisor of TechAura 2025 Dr. Imlitoshi Jamir, reflected on the achievements of past TechAura leaders, emphasizing how the festival serves as a launching pad for successful careers.
He encouraged students to embrace job opportunities outside the state, contributing to the broader community and inspiring the next generation. Jamir also highlighted the festival’s role in providing a platform for neighboring institutions and expressed hope for its continued growth.
The event commenced with an invocation by Tabennaro Longkumer, Secretary of SET-Evangelical Union (SET-EU), followed by a welcome address by L. Angphoi Angwanhu, Co-convenor of TechAura 2025. Lhuzinyi Rhakho, President of Nagaland University Students’ Union, Kohima Campus, extended greetings to the attendees. Cultural performances included a classical dance by Linkoi Neinum and a special song by Augustina Krechana.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Okato K. Awomi, Secretary of TechAura 2025, and a benediction by Ekai Y. Konyak, President of NUEU, marking the official closure of the festival.
Following the closing ceremony, a series of engaging events took place, including the Truss Bridge Exhibition and Testing, a Fashion Show featuring recycled materials, and the much-anticipated Battle of Bands.
The concert’s highlight was a special appearance by Annie’s Ok, winner of TechAura 2019’s ‘Battle of the Bands’ and a main stage artist at the Hornbill International Music Festival 2023.
