Nagaland JD(U) president Senchumo NSN Lotha has tendered his resignation, citing a shift in focus towards prioritizing the welfare of the indigenous Naga people.
In a letter addressed to JD(U) national president and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, NSN Lotha expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve under his leadership, lauding Kumar’s contributions to Bihar’s development, law and order reforms, and governance.
NSN Lotha stated that his decision to step down stemmed from a change in perspective, emphasizing that he now wishes to work primarily for the welfare of the Naga people rather than viewing issues solely from a national standpoint.
“I have always strived to contribute to my people as an Indian, but now, I wish to realign my focus and ask what I can do for my own indigenous people,” he wrote.
NSN also mentioned that he had met JD(U) national working president and MP Sanjay Jha to apprise him of his decision. However, he assured Kumar of his continued support and willingness to assist the party whenever needed. He extended best wishes to Kumar, expressing hope for his continued leadership in uplifting backward communities in Bihar and beyond.
