Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) urging the state government to achieve the goal of pay parity with the central government employees Friday demanded to immediately release Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) to state government employees and pensioners respectively.
Pointing out that union finance ministry had released six percent DA to central employees, commencing from January 1, 2009 which adds up to 54 percent in total at present, CANSSEA president, Dr. K Solo and joint secretary, Dr. IP Khala in a letter addressed to state chief secretary said financial package of six percent DA to central employees was in addition to sixth Central Pay Commission released to them in April 2008- doubling financial benefits and augmentations.
Maintaining that it was not necessary to reiterate again, the CANSSEA said the payment of DA at central rate of two installments in a calendar year by the government of Nagaland to its employees was a committed one, which it asserted, needed to be paid to them in time without being pushed to or pursued upon.
Further explaining that inflation rate of the country has been uneven and causing variation in essential commodity prices, the CANSSEA said against the backdrop of overall economic spectrum, middle level state government employees have been the worst sufferers.
CANSSEA with regard to this has further urged the government to coherently initiate immediate payment in the interest of all employees and Naga public before things get worsened.
