Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland State organized a state-level workshop on the WAQF Amendment Act 2025 at BJP Dimapur district Office on April 30, 2025.
In a press release, general secretary of BJP Dimapur district, Alise Sangtam informed that the session was chaired by Sedevilie Angami, vice president State BJYM, and began with an in-vocation by Bichano Ngullie, State Spokesperson.
Delivering keynote address, H. Haiying, state vice president, and State convenor of the WAQF Amendment Act 2025 Awareness Campaign Committee emphasized the significance and positive impact of the WAQF Amendment Act 2025. He highlighted how the amend-ment rationalizes the extraordinary and arbitrary powers previously granted to the WAQF Board, which lacked transparency and accountability in property administration.
The Act further introduces a centralized portal and database, consolidating WAQF property details nationwide to enhance transparency and oversight.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by V. Shekishe Achumi, president BJP Dimapur dis-trict.
Meanwhile, the BJP Nagaland reiterated its commitment to fostering accountability and in-clusivity in WAQF administration. The party leaders emphasized that those reforms align with the government’s broader vision for equitable governance and social justice.
