KDFA to host football trials in Kohima

The Kohima District Football Association (KDFA), in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), has announced a two-day football scouting trial scheduled for May 8 and 9 at IG Stadium, Kohima. The initiative aims to identify and nurture promising football talent from Nagaland through its association with NorthEast United FC.


The trials will be conducted for two age categories: Under-17 (players born between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2010) and the Reserve Team (players born between January 1, 2005, and December 31, 2008). KDFA informed that interested participants must report at the venue by 8:00 AM with the required documents, including a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, and completed registration form.


KDFA has confirmed that the trials will adhere to the standard operating procedures set by the NFA, following its communication with the All India Football Federation (AIFF). NorthEast United FC has reaffirmed its commitment to providing a professional pathway for local footballers, expressing confidence in the potential of Nagaland’s players.

The club emphasized that integrating players from the state into its roster will not only create opportunities for individuals but also bring broader recognition to Nagaland’s footballing talent.
