Konyak Union (KU) has clarified that no organization exists under the title “Konyak Angh Union Nagaland.” In a press release, KU president Tingthok Konyak and press & media secretary Nokzei P Konyak lauded the effort of Nagaland GB Federation Peace Committee (NGBDPC) for initiating a unified platform to address the “Indo-Naga” political issue, which is scheduled to be held at Agri Expo, Dimapur on May 14, 2025.
However, KU took exception to the inclusion of the name “Konyak Angh Union Nagaland” among the organizing bodies. KU pointed out that Ahng institution (Kingship) is a time-honoured and independent traditional authority, exercising sovereign powers for the right cause without association to any union or organization.
Due to confusion and concerns arising from the public and various organizations over the authenticity of the mentioned “Konyak Angh Union Nagaland”, KU said it had a coordination meeting with all the Ahngs (Hereditary Chiefs) of various villages on May 7, 2025 at the KU Conference Hall, Mon.
After detailed deliberation, KU said it was “unanimously confirmed” that no organization exists under the title “Konyak Angh Union Nagaland.” Therefore, KU has urged the concerned organization “to rectify this misrepresentation to prevent any further misunderstanding or confusion.”
