Governor, CM lead statewide call for vigilance and national solidarity

In a significant demonstration of unity and patriotism, the Nagaland government along with various stakeholders on Saturday adopted a unanimous resolution expressing full solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, the national leadership, and reaffirming the state’s commitment to national security and unity.


The emergency meeting– jointly convened by Nagaland Governor La Ganesan and chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio– was held at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, in light of the recent military operation ‘Operation Sindoor’, carried out by Indian Armed Forces in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).


Top officials of the state government, security agencies, religious leaders, and community representatives participated in the high-level meeting, which was aimed at reinforcing the collective resolve of the people of Nagaland in support of the nation’s sovereignty.


As per the resolution jointly issued by the governor and chief minister, they acknowledged Operation Sindoor as a decisive military operation undertaken by the Indian Armed Forces, successfully targeted and neutralized terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), in defense of India’s sovereignty and security.


Solidarity with armed forces and leadership: The meeting maintained that the government and the people of Nagaland solemnly express their full and unwavering to the Indian armed forces and national leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


“We salute the courage, sacrifice and professionalism of our soldiers defending the nation’s sovereignty and integrity.” Appeal to religious leaders: The meeting appealed to the religious leaders across Nagaland to conduct special prayer services for the protection and well-being of the armed forces, national leaders and the country. They also requested the religious leaders to promote messagesof unity and patriotism through sermons, discussions and community engagements.


Citizen to call: Citizens have been urged to remain alert to misinformation, fake news, and divisive propaganda from anti-national elements. Citizens have also been urged to rely on official communications and advisories and to comply with all government directives and advisories to maintain peace, public order and national security.


Youth engagement: The resolution also emphasized youth participation in activities that build national pride, civic responsibility and unity and to stand resilient against any threats to the nation


The meeting also reaffirmed Nagaland’s position as an integral part of the Indian Union and its readiness to stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the country in defense of its values and sovereignty.
