Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU) and Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB), Bhandari, held separate ceremonies on May 9 to honor outstanding students who excelled in the 2025 HSLC and HSSLC examinations.
At Ura Academy, NASU celebrated the achievements of ten academic achievers. Er. Vipulhou Lhoungu, director of Technical Education and president of the Northern Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (NAGOK), attended as special guest. In his speech, he encouraged students to stay humble, trust in God, and remain dedicated to their studies. NAWO president Kedisenuo Keditsu also shared words of encouragement.
Keluosenuo Suokhrie, who secured the fourth position in HSLC, spoke on behalf of the toppers, expressing gratitude and determination. The event featured a musical performance by Ruokuose-ü Sanchu, and NASU vice president Khrieketouzo Pienyü delivered the vote of thanks.
Education secretary Vimezo Chakrüno chaired the program, which began with an invocation by Eno Kevidzenyü Mere, assistant professor at Shalom Bible Seminary. NASU president Meteitoulie Talie welcomed the attendees.
Meanwhile, SDPDB Bhandari honored three toppers from the sub-division. Benrithung Ovung of Koro Village, St. John HSS Dimapur, secured Top 5 (b) in the science stream. Lorenchumi R. Humtsoe from New Ralan Village, Little Star HSS Dimapur, secured Top 6 in the arts stream, while Chumlanthung Ranthang from Baghty Village, Queen Mary School, Mokokchung, achieved Top 20 (a).
Speaking at the felicitation program held at the conference hall of the Summer House-Cum-Guest House, Bhandari, Achumbemo Kikon MLA congratulated the students for bringing pride to their schools, villages, and the Lotha community. He urged students and teachers to continue striving for academic excellence.
The toppers were awarded certificates of commendation and cash prizes. Rev. Longshithung Mozhui, pastor of Baptist Church Bhandari Town, offered prayers for the toppers and all successful candidates. ADC and SDPDB vice chairman, Longasen Lotha (NCS), delivered the vote of thanks.
